Hi, Our next meeting will be on November 24 at 2:30 (room 8438 in SSC). We will discuss a paper by Apperly and Butterfill (the names are making me hungry for some kind of pie or tart) on the question of two systems for belief states. You can find the paper here, complete with highlights


October 27th Meeting

Great meeting yesterday (the 13th)! Our next meeting is scheduled for October 27th at 2:30 room TBA (they are all booked, right now, I’ll see what I can do). For the 27th we’ll be reading and discussing Sloman’s 1996 article and Gigerenzer’s comment on it.



October 13th Meeting

Our theme this year will be on the psychology of dual systems. Are two systems necessary to explain the seeming variety of cognitive processes and behaviours? This is an old question in philosophy and psychology and there are new answers.

We will meet in Room 7409 in SSC at 2:30-4:00 and will discuss the Keran and Schul paper and the Milner and Goodale Paper. Other readings may show up on the reading list as well, though we’ll stick to these two for now.
